Sticky Floors & Hard Rock Times

Wow! What a busy weekend I've had!! It started with going to the awesome Rock and Worship concert with my friends. How fun it was to pile in a small van and head out for a long car ride chatting and laughing all the way! When we got to our destination we all trooped into the large coliseum where the concert was being held. There were so many people there it was dizzyfying (ha! made a new word! :) Thankfully we had some more friends, who arrived earlier, waiting with some seats. When I was walking up the long and steep flight of stairs I just nearly fell backwards, there was so much commotion! The concert was totally awesome!!!!! I had a blast! This was my first concert, so it was pretty sweet! :) The artist who played were Sidewalk Profits, Remedy Drive, Fee (my personal favorite!), Family Force Five (my least favorite), David Crowder Band, Francesca Bastille, and Mercy Me. We all enjoyed every band except Family Force Five, never in my life have I heard such bad, hard rock. It was deafening! I had to have earplugs in for them! I would say that their actions and songs were not in the least glorifying to Christ, they were horrid! Other then that group I really enjoyed it all, oh wait, the sticky floors were not very fun either. It was so gross! I think someone had spilled some sort of pop were we were sitting so it made our feet stick to the ground so badly that you had to use quite the force to lift them again! lol :)

Then on Saturday night my family and I went to a classical music concert. They had this really good baritone singing. It was very good, but quite the opposite of what I heard the night before! :) After the concert they had a lovely dessert spread. mmmm, there were so many delicious desserts! I truly shocked my brother and sister by eating someones dessert that they had left at our table. See some people had been sitting at a table, and once they left we used it but they didn't clear their leftovers so a plate of desserts was sitting in front of me, tempting me (f.y.i. the food hadn't been eaten off of) so I ate it. My siblings thought me very gross, but the food was undamaged so why shouldn't i eat it? lol! I guess I was in a weird mood, I don't usually do stuff like that!

Then last night I went with my older brother to youth group. TO ANYONE WHO HAS AN OLDER BROTHER: Aren't we blessed!!!! It is so nice to have an older sibling to drive you around, no, really, he came too so he wasn't just driving me around :) Then on the way home we decided to try out a different road. Bad idea! I wouldn't suggest it in the dark. For a little while we were quite lost, but then we found the right road and continued homeward.

I'd better be going. Sorry if I confused you with my weird post... I just felt like a long post :)

A Commitment to Modesty

"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me." Psalm 51:10

I want to be a girl who strives to portray Jesus Christ in all my thoughts, moods, actions, words, and even in my clothing. I want to be a girl who dresses in a way so that I will be in no way a stumbling block to my brothers in Christ. In my attire I want to portray Jesus, wearing nothing that attracts wrong ideas, or acting like nothing that is wrong. It may be hard, but I want to strive for modesty in every area...

"Likewise also that woman should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control"... 1 Timothy 2:9

Christian young men have personally said that they don't even want to look at a girl if she is dressed in a way so that it's immodest, and that it's hard to concentrate on what she's saying when she's dressed this way. So, why do we want to tempt them in such a wicked way? We don't, so PLEASE, girls, don't wear immodest clothing!
I hope that every girl who reads this will also want to commit to modesty, so that we are not harming those godly young men around us, and in a way harming ourselves.

If you truly want to be commited to modesty, and know, in more detail, about clothes that are proper, you can go to www.therebelution.com/modestysurvey/

The End

Hooray! The play went wonderfully! I was really happy that we had no mistakes, we had mistakes in the dress rehearsal but not in the actual play. It all went smoothly. Oh, goodness was it fun to be in!! I couldn't believe I wasn't nervous, usually I would be shaking like a leaf, but I wasn't! I struggle with self confidence at times, but I feel like from being in this play it has helped me so much.

Now that the play is over I feel rather sad, it was so much fun for only one week. Now it's all done. :(
Well, I have to go and work on some more school....
TTYL!!!

The Princess and the Pea

Wow! This is pretty amazing!! Last Monday my sister and I went with some friends to audition for this children's play. They had us do all sorts of things to see how well we could act, like be act angry, sad, happy for different sentences you would say. They also had us sing some songs. It was kinda weird because my two friends and I were the only fifteen year olds (the very oldest), wait there was also one fifteen year old boy. Anyways being one of the oldest meant I was the very tallest! It wasn't THAT bad, but just a little weird when there were so many little kids. Thankfully I didn't stand out like too bad of a sore thumb because this one girl was almost my height and i have a tall little sister. (move on with your story Alena! "sorry, just taking some bunny trails." :) ANYWAYS, the most awesome thing is that I got one of the leading roles!!!!! I am Gale, the head citizen/phony princess who tries to win the prince into liking her. I actually have a very funny part. The saddest part was that my sister and one of my friends didn't get in *large sigh*. It would be SOOOOOOOooo much more fun with them in it!!!!

It is a one week production, so there is only this week to get prepared for it then the show will be
on Saturday. We practice every night this week for four hours each night. It is slightly tiring, but the strange thing is that I get home then I can't sleep! My brain just won't stop!
Well enough about that for now. Maybe I'll tell you more about it after the show is over....

Oh, spring is in the air!! It is so wonderful!! We are getting rain for the first time this year. And in our backyard we have tulips and daffodils coming up! But I think the best part was that this morning as I was eating breakfast I saw a robin!! He was sitting in a pine tree. HOORAY FOR SPRING!!!
Bye, Bye 4 now!!! :)
