How fast this summer has gone! Oh, if only summer, with all its glories, would last a little longer!
I almost think that the more you enjoy something the faster the time will fly. It seems that every summer in my life is much different from the last. There have been so many changes in my life, its truly hard to count them all. One thing that has not changed in my life is the love of God. He has been my strong tower that I have been able to constantly run to. He is always there ready to greet his lost or worried child. He never changes, when we are being surrounded by changing events, (seasons, life styles, friendships, personalities) He is there with unending love. I love Psalm 18:2 because it is SO true! The living Christ is whom we must hold firm to!
The Lord is my rock, and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, is my rock in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, and my stronghold.
Ps. 18:2

Tying up the Loose Ends
The Duke’s son, William, rode distractedly through the village trying to come up with the perfect proposal to win Stella’s heart. He had bought the biggest bouquet from the flower shop for the occasion. He didn’t have very good taste for such things; William had asked the florist’s opinion on which bouquet he should buy. He thought it safe to take the florist’s word for it and had bought the most expensive bouquet in the store (To the great joy of the Florist). William hoped Stella would be grateful for his efforts to make her happy.
Being quite distracted and not paying attention to where he was going, William blundered into the royal procession, almost knocking down the men carrying the princess’ litter. Wondering what on earth the awful jostling was about; Princess Areda popped her head through the curtains to scold the litter bearers, but stopped when her eyes met the young, handsome young man upon a noble steed with a humungous bouquet of flowers in hand. Astounded by her beauty, William forgot all about Stella. What he hadn’t forgotten, however, was the wonderful proposal he had in mind. In one swift motion, he was off the horse and on one knee. Dazzled by the gorgeous flowers, Princess Areda quite forgot herself, and accepted at once before thoroughly thinking the matter through. The next day they were married and went to live in their grand palace by the sea. And so (of course) they lived happily ever after, for you see, personality and character do not matter as much in fairy tales as they do in real life.
Six months after the proposal, Adam and Stella were married in the little white church in the village. Though not at all rich, they lived happily ever after in a small cottage just outside the village. You must know how relieved Stella was when she heard about William’s marriage. Adam’s cabbages won prizes in every fair across the country.
