Well, we are now into summer! The first day of summer came and left without to much excitement in the day. But in the evening we had fun as a family sitting on our deck eating cake with lanterns all around. Then when it got later we watched a meteor shower that we hadn't know about until my brother went outside and saw many stars shooting fast across the sky. It was very fun to watch! It was so sad when a big cloud cover came in though. :( We couldn't see much after that.
I have been sewing again! This last week I started a doll dress (as an example for the dress my size). I designed this dress a while ago on paper, and I just found material that works perfectly! My little sister was getting rid of a green, velvet shirt that was too small for her, so I seized the opportunity of saving money on more material, and used it for the dress. In my imagination the dress was to have green velvet, so that shirt was perfect ( for the doll dress that is ). When I do one day make the dress for myself I will have to buy some material, but for the example it was perfect! :) Anyway, up above is a picture of the dress. It isn't sewn together yet, (except the skirt is already finished), but I pinned it up for the picture.
I have to go now...talk to you all later my bloggy friends!

~Maidenhood~ by Longfellow
Maiden! With the meek, brown eyes
In whose orbs shadow lies
Like the dusk in evening skies!
Thou whose locks outshine the sun,
Golden tresses, wreathed in one,
As the braided streamlets run!
Standing, with reluctant feet,
Where the brook and river meet,
Womanhood and childhood fleet!
Gazing, with a timid glance,
On the brooklet's swift advance,
On the river's broad expanse!
Deep and still, that gliding stream
Beautiful to thee must seem,
As the river of a dream.
Then why pause with indecision,
When bright angles in the vision
Beckon thee ti fields Elysian?
Seest thou shadows sailing by,
As the dove, with startled eye,
Sees the falcon's shadow fly?
Hearest thou voices on the shore,
That our ears perceive no more,
Deafened by the cataract's roar?
Oh, thou child of many prayers!
Life hath quicksands, - Life has snares!
Care and age come unawares!
Like the swell of some sweet tune,
Morning rises into noon,
May glides onward into June.
Childhood is the bough, where slumbered
Birds and blossoms many-numbered;-
Age, that bough with snows encumbered.
Gather, then, each flower that grows,
When the young heart overflows,
To embalm that tent of snows.
Bear a lily in thy hand;
Gates of brass cannot withstand
One touch of that magic wand.
Bear through sorrow, wrong, and ruth,
In thy heart the dew of youth,
On thy lips the smile of truth.
Oh, that dew, like balm, shall steal
Into wounds that cannot heal,
Even as sleep our eyes doth seal;
And that smile, like sunshine, dart
Into many a sunless heart,
For a smile of God thou art.
- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
I'm sorry that I am not continuing my story...I started another and don't know what to do with the old one. I will be back anon. Good Bye!
